6 quarts water
3 eggs
¼ tsp salt
1/2 cup water
1 ¾ cup flour
2 Tbsp butter or margarine
1 Tbsp salt
1 Tbsp oil


  1. In large pot, bring water to boil. Beat eggs, salt, water and flour together until blended.
  2. Melt butter in deep skillet, place in warm oven to hold for cooked spaezle.
  3. Add 1 Tbsp Salt and 1 Tbsp oil to boiling water. Grease inside of colander with veggie shortening or butter. Place colander in sauce pan so it is 2 inches above boiling water.
  4. Spoon ¼ cup batter into colander. Force through holes with rubber scrapper so spaezle falls into water below. when it floats to surface count to 10 and remove with slotted spoon. Place in skillet to keep warm. Repeat.
